Didcot, Abingdon & Wantage Talking Newspaper

Readers are the voice of DAWN.

There are four Readers for DAWN each week. They sit around a table, each reading an article in turn, while the Recording Engineer ensures that everything is working correctly.

There's no problem with a mixed-up word or two, as it is always straightforward to go back a sentence or two and re-record.

As an introduction, potential volunteers are asked to come along to a recording session to get a better idea of what is involved and, if they are interested in becoming Readers, to undertake a short and very informal 'audition'. This simply involves reading a brief news item into a microphone.
